just wanted to get on and write.... I'm freaking out a little bit right now but I'm sure it'll all subside once I get on the road. It's just a little crazy to consider that I'm about to head out to ride across the country, going through 9 states, traveling 2400 miles to Mexico on my bicycle. I'm truly going to miss Columbus a lot while I'm gone and although I'm not sure the outcome of this trip, I'm sure I'll have plenty of stories to tell and will experience the wide variety of sights, sounds, smells and people that this country has to offer.
I'm heading out with one worry though, the dogs of Kentucky and whether the mace will work against them. :P

A CB antenna whip is what I used to tame threatening dogs that could have drawn blood. Sometimes I had to pop them upside the head, hard as hell, more than once to stop them. Worked every time though. I wouldn't trust mace.
